PINHEAD
In September of 2005, a very nice man named Kurt, having seen some of my zombie pix on MySpace, contacted me and asked if he could hire me to make him a Pinhead costume for the upcoming Halloween. Zombie costumes are easy -- slap on the goo, and if something's out of place, chances are no one will notice. Pinhead is another thing altogether: everything's very precise, and a multi-section Pinhead costume is not really designed for anything but standing very still on a movie set with a trained FX crew at the ready to replace things that fall off. I'd never done anything like it, and certainly hadn't ever played with prosthetic rubber casting before.
"Of course I can do it!" I said.
The costume included a long leather trench (supplied by the client) that I altered so that it looked like it was full of holes with 'skin' behind them stuck through with chains and hooks. It was all very cool.
And as soon as I find the rest of the photos, I'll put a few more up...but I have a sinking, sick-to-my-stomach kind of suspicion that they got deleted by accident...so this is what I've got.
